Meet Chief!!

We decided to get the kids a kitten for Christmas this year. We went back and forth about how to do it- should we get it for them so they could open it on Christmas Day? Where would we keep it until then?- should we get it after Christmas? We decided to buy and wrap all the supplies that we would need to have a cat in the house and had the kids open that on Christmas morning. The kids were so excited with the idea of getting a pet. We went to the Humane Society today and there were no kittens to be had. Apparently a lot of people wanted kittens for Christmas.

We finally found an 8 month old kitten at a Pet Smart that was being offered through the Humane Society. We had originally wanted a female, orange kitten under 3 or 4 months old, but when we came to the realization that there were very few kittens in Omaha, and when we realized how disappointed Noah would be if we had to wait for one, we decided to take whatever we could get. We ended up getting a black, male 8 month old kitten, and I'm so glad we found him!

Seth came up with the name Chief in honor of his favorite football team, and we are all in love with him!! He is so easy going and laid back, which is good since Ella is a little excited with him! He's only been home with us for a few hours and he has been following me around the house and making himself at home. Welcome to the Christensen family, Chief!!
